Kick it for Kashius 5K Race/Walk Saturday November 3rd

Through the efforts of some amazing friends of the Mostranskys, there is a 5K race in Kashius' honor this fall! The event will be at the Crossings in Colonie. The proceeds will benefit the Mostransky family.

There will be food, live music, and a Bouncy-Bounce. ARE Event Productions is providing chip timing.

Race-Day registration opens at 9am. The Kids Fun Run is at 10. The 5K Race/Walk begins at 10:30.

Memorial Day to Remember

Memorial Day the Mostranskys and Kavanaughs got together for food and fun in the sun. Kashius played with his baby cousin Adele, and he and his sister September played on a giant inflatable water slide.

The day ended with a family canoe trip out on Glass Lake, and the discovery of a baby turtle crossing the road. Kashius 'helped' the turtle find a new home in grandpa's pond. 

Over 1300 Facebook followers and growing!

The Facebook group, Let's Kick it for Kashius, now has over 1300 followers and is still growing! You can view the site here if you have a Facebook account.

U.S. soccer star Jozy Altidore "kicks it" for Kashius

WHEN: Friday June 8th, 7:00pm, Tampa, Florida WHAT: United States Men's National Team soccer standout Jozy Altidore joins the fight against ALL with Kashius Mostransky when he wears his "Let's Kick It For Kashius" bracelet during the Americans' 2014 World Cup qualifying match against Antigua & Barbuda at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla. All funds raised via this event will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation per the Mostransky family's request.

Great Easter Sunday with the Family!

The Kavanaughs and Mostranskys got together today for Easter--it was the first time in a while since we'd all gotten together. Everyone was in good spirits, and the weather was beautiful. We had a wonderful home-cooked meal generously provided by family friends. Kashius demonstrated some cool Taekwondo moves, September played with her baby cousin Adele, the family played a game, Grandpa juggled, and the kids played outside on their scooters--it was a good day.

Looks like Kashius is getting out of the hospital today--yay!!!

White blood cell count slowly growing

The chest tube is out, and the lung is fine...now to fight the pneumonia, which is hard to do without white blood cells of your own. The white blood cells are growing everyday though! They hope to bring Kashius home by Wednesday, just in time for Easter weekend. 

Tube is out.

The catheter tube is out of Kashius' lung today. They are waiting to see if his lung will inflate on its own. If not, they will have to reinsert the tube. Let's hope they don't have to!
